Airlines have advised passengers travelling from Hyderabad to start for the airport earlier than usual as heavy rain continues to slow movement across the city. They urged travellers to check the status of their flights through the airline’s app or official website and assured that ground teams are working to assist passengers and keep operations running as smoothly as possible.
The persistent rainfall has not only disrupted air travel but has also caused heavy traffic on key roads in and around Hyderabad. Severe waterlogging was reported in Mithila Nagar colony under the Meerpet Municipal Corporation in Rangareddy district, adding to the difficulties faced by commuters.
A day earlier, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy instructed the state administration to remain on high alert over the next two days in anticipation of more intense downpours. The Chief Minister’s Office stated that officials have been directed to closely monitor flood-prone areas, evacuate people from low-lying regions when necessary, and restrict movement on submerged roads.
Teams from GHMC, HYDRAA, NDRF and SDRF have been placed on standby across Hyderabad to respond to emergencies. Telangana has already recorded around 25 percent above-average rainfall during this monsoon season, with Hyderabad experiencing particularly heavy showers.
