ISKCON’s International Outreach Boosts Cultural Tourism in West Bengal
KOLKATA: A group of 35 international tourists recently visited the historic Kalighat Temple and explored several Durga Puja pandals across Kolkata. The visit was supported by ISKCON, which has been actively promoting West Bengal as a destination for cultural and spiritual tourism.
Radharamn Das, Vice-President of ISKCON Kolkata and trustee of Jagannath Dham Trust, Digha, said, “We are proud to contribute to the state government’s vision of attracting tourists to West Bengal. Over the past one and a half decades, significant efforts have been made to develop tourism infrastructure. Landmarks like Digha Jagannath Dham and the upcoming Durga Angan in Kolkata showcase these efforts. We are encouraging all our international visitors to include West Bengal in their travel plans. Once Durga Angan is complete, trips covering Sridham Mayapur, Digha Jagannath Dham, and various sites in Kolkata will become a must-see itinerary. We are calling it the ‘magical golden triangle.’”
This initiative highlights Bengal’s growing reputation as a global hub for cultural and spiritual tourism, blending traditional celebrations with world-class visitor experiences.
