Sri Lanka Tourism Launches Three-City Roadshow in Southern India to Engage Indian Travellers
Sri Lanka Tourism is stepping up its efforts to attract travellers from India with a series of roadshows across three major cities in Southern India. The events are scheduled to take place in Madurai on October 6, Coimbatore on October 8, and Chennai on October 10, 2025. The roadshow aims to highlight Sri Lanka’s rich tourism offerings while building stronger connections with the Indian travel industry.
Organised by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, the roadshows will include business-to-business sessions and networking evenings to present Sri Lanka as a year-round travel destination suitable for all types of travellers. Indian travel agents and industry professionals will get the opportunity to learn about Sri Lanka’s tourism sector, explore its popular attractions, and discover emerging opportunities in leisure and MICE tourism.
Speaking about the initiative, the delegation led by Minister Vijitha Herath, responsible for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, along with Deputy Minister of Tourism Prof. Ruwan Ranasinghe, said that the roadshow reflects Sri Lanka’s dedication to maintaining its position as a preferred destination for Indian travellers. The delegation comprises over 40 representatives from various sectors of the tourism industry, including hotels, resorts, tour operators, destination management companies, and other service providers.
Each city will host more than 200 participants, including Indian travel agents, industry experts, and members of the media. Adding a cultural touch to the events, a Sri Lankan dance troupe will perform in each city, offering attendees a glimpse into the island’s rich heritage and traditions.
