Apple Fixes Apple Intelligence Bug That Affected iPhone 17 AI Features

 

Apple has quietly released a fix for a bug in Apple Intelligence that prevented iPhone 17 users from accessing the device’s AI features. The problem was first reported on the Apple Intelligence community shortly after the new iPhone models became available. Users noted that the AI features initially worked for a few days, but then their Siri interface reverted to the old animation, and Apple’s AI functions became inaccessible.

 

Almost three weeks passed without an official comment from Apple. However, MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris reports that the company has now deployed a server-side update that restores Apple Intelligence for affected devices. The fix applies automatically to iPhone 15 Pro and later models, allowing all compatible devices to regain access to Apple’s AI capabilities. Users can confirm the feature is working by going to the Settings app and selecting the Apple Intelligence menu.

 

Other Issues in iOS 26

 

While the Apple Intelligence bug appears resolved, users running iOS 26 have experienced a range of other issues since the update’s release. The problems began with battery drain and performance slowdowns and later extended to visual glitches and connectivity issues.

 

A CNET review of the iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro found that photos occasionally displayed black boxes or white squiggles, which Apple has acknowledged and promised to address. Additionally, some users reported Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity problems, including unexpected disconnections from Bluetooth or Wi-Fi networks and difficulty connecting to cellular networks on certain iPhone 17 models.

 

The update has also raised complaints about transparency and legibility issues with iOS 26’s Liquid Glass design. Some users noted that icons appear tilted or skewed, particularly when Dark Mode is enabled with a dark wallpaper background.
