Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Visits AIIMS After Satya Niketan Building Collapse

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday, September 8, visited the AIIMS Trauma Centre to meet students injured in the Satya Niketan building collapse and their families. She assured them that the government would provide all necessary assistance and ensure the best possible medical treatment.

According to Gupta, 12 people were rescued from the collapsed building, while seven people, including two labourers, lost their lives. One of the injured labourers is undergoing treatment for a leg injury.

Gupta said two injured students are in stable condition and are expected to be discharged, while another student remains critically ill and is being treated in the ICU.

During her visit, the Chief Minister spoke with doctors about the students’ health and directed them to ensure there were no shortcomings in their treatment. The government will cover the entire cost of medical care and provide other required assistance to the affected families.

“Saving the lives of the children is the government’s top priority,” Gupta said, adding that the families of the injured students would receive every possible support.

She also said the families of those who died had taken the bodies and that the government remained in contact with them.

Gupta confirmed that the building owner had been arrested. She said strict action would be taken against anyone found responsible after the investigation is completed.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the immediate focus remains on saving the injured students and ensuring they receive the best possible medical care.
