Bigg Boss Tamil Season 10 opened on Sunday, September 6, with a premiere packed with new twists and surprises.

Host Vijay Sethupathi connected virtually with Mohanlal, Kichcha Sudeep and Nagarjuna Akkineni, who lead the other three South Indian editions of the reality franchise, all of which premiered on the same day.

The new season has also introduced a Democracy Room, a new addition to the house that will have a role in determining how the contestants live and operate inside.

Another major change was the involvement of the studio audience in selecting housemates. As many as 29 personalities appeared on the launch stage and introduced themselves before the audience. Based on those introductions, the audience voted to decide who would move forward, leading to multiple contestants being eliminated during the premiere itself.
