Advanced Micro Devices has reached a market value of more than $1 trillion for the first time as investors continue to show strong interest in companies involved in artificial intelligence computing.
AMD shares climbed 9.6% to a record $613.31 on Monday, taking the chipmaker into the group of US semiconductor companies that have reached the trillion dollar valuation level.
The company has been expanding beyond individual processors by developing complete AI computing systems that combine chips, networking equipment and other hardware. Growing demand for server processors used alongside graphics chips has also helped AMD gain ground in the data centre market.
AMD has seen its shares rise sharply during 2026 as expectations for AI related demand have strengthened. The company is also competing more directly with Nvidia while gaining market share in some areas of server computing.
