US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are scheduled to meet at the White House on Thursday as both sides seek to manage tensions surrounding trade, technology and global security.
The meeting comes as leaders gather at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, highlighting the importance of the relationship between the world’s two largest economies.
Trade, artificial intelligence and defence are expected to feature in discussions between the two leaders. The talks are also taking place as both countries continue efforts to strengthen their positions in key technology and economic sectors.
