Australia have shifted Joseph Suaalii from outside centre to the left wing for Sunday’s Test against South Africa at Perth Stadium. The change allows coach Les Kiss to pair Hunter Paisami with Len Ikitau in the centres.
Ben Donaldson will again start at flyhalf after featuring in the position during Australia’s 28 to 28 draw against Argentina in Mendoza earlier this month.
Carter Gordon, Australia’s first choice flyhalf, remains unavailable after suffering a fractured leg as a replacement against Argentina. Kiss has opted not to include a specialist flyhalf among the replacements.
Allan Alaalatoa and Brandon Paenga Amosa return to the starting front row, replacing Taniela Tupou and Billy Pollard, who will begin the match among the substitutes.
Australia have named six forwards on the bench, with scrumhalf Tate McDermott and winger Harry Potter the only backs included among the replacements.
South Africa coach Rassie Erasmus has made 13 changes to his starting side for the Perth encounter.
Australia enter the match unbeaten in their last five games, while South Africa recently completed a 3 to 1 series victory over New Zealand in a four match contest.
Australia will start with Tom Wright, Max Jorgensen, Len Ikitau, Hunter Paisami, Joseph Aukuso Suaalii, Ben Donaldson, Ryan Lonergan, Harry Wilson as captain, Fraser McReight, Rob Valetini, Jeremy Williams, Josh Canham, Allan Alaalatoa, Brandon Paenga Amosa and Angus Bell.
The replacements are Billy Pollard, Aidan Ross, Taniela Tupou, Lukhan Salakaia Loto, Tom Hooper, Carlo Tizzano, Tate McDermott and Harry Potter.
