Heavy rainfall has disrupted normal life across several parts of Uttar Pradesh, with persistent showers affecting daily activities and road movement in multiple districts.
Authorities have ordered schools up to Class 12 to remain closed in several districts in view of the heavy rain warning. Lucknow and other areas have experienced intense rainfall over the past 24 hours amid prevailing cyclonic conditions. Traffic movement has also been affected, while several rain related accidents have been reported from different parts of the state.
Relief Commissioner Dr Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod reviewed the situation through a video conference with District Magistrates of areas under red and orange alerts. He instructed officials to remain present in the field, keep a close watch on changing conditions and respond promptly to emergencies.
Officials have been asked to maintain preparedness and ensure that necessary action is taken without delay wherever the weather situation creates a risk to public safety.
