Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the difference between urban and rural India has reduced considerably over the past 12 years, while rural infrastructure has also seen major improvement. He also highlighted the growing self reliance and economic empowerment of women across the country.

He made the remarks while interacting virtually with Seva Yatris travelling from Varanasi to Vadnagar as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of social service, social reform and bringing positive changes to society. He said the goal of building a developed India requires the involvement and contribution of people across the country.

Modi recalled that Vadnagar had given him values that shaped his life, while Kashi had added many dimensions of service to those values. He also expressed his happiness that young participants were contributing their own forms of service to the journey.

During the virtual interaction, the Seva Yatris shared their experiences from the journey. Modi encouraged them to maintain diaries and document their experiences and memories along the way.
