Thousands of people in Bangkok have moved to evacuation centres after intense rainfall caused severe flooding across parts of the Thai capital.
Around 320 millimetres of rain fell over two to three days, overwhelming drainage systems and flooding several neighbourhoods. Authorities said more than 80,000 residents in affected areas were unable to leave their homes.
Rising water levels in reservoirs in an eastern province have also led authorities to order further evacuations. Relief teams are using boats and mobile kitchens to support people affected by the flooding.
