India's Esha Singh won the silver medal in the women's 25 metre pistol individual event at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi Nagoya, Japan. She finished the competition with 38 points to secure second place.

Pincky Balhara also added a bronze medal for India in the women's under 78 kg Kurash event. She reached the podium after winning her quarterfinal against South Korea's Lim Garam by 3 to 0 before losing her semifinal.

India's men's cricket team advanced to the semifinal after its quarterfinal against Afghanistan was abandoned because of bad weather. As India held the higher ICC T20I ranking, it progressed to the last four. The defending champions will face the winner of the Nepal and Sri Lanka quarterfinal.

In women's boxing, Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain assured herself of a medal in the 75 kg category after defeating South Korea's Seong Suyeon by 5 to 0 in the quarterfinal.

India's medal tally has reached 39, comprising four gold, 17 silver and 18 bronze medals.

President Droupadi Murmu congratulated Esha Singh on her silver medal and praised her performance for its skill, precision and consistency. She said the achievement adds another proud moment to the shooter's sporting career.
