Union Labour and Employment Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said India’s social security system now covers more than 100 crore people through various welfare measures.
He said the coverage includes health protection of up to five lakh rupees for more than 60 crore citizens, ESIC health benefits for around 25 crore people, free food grains for over 80 crore people, along with financial support for farmers and women.
Addressing the National Conference on Industrial Relations and Labour and Awards in New Delhi, Mandaviya said the government is working to maintain industrial growth while strengthening the welfare and social security of workers.
He called on all stakeholders to work together towards sustainable development and support India's goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
