The Indian Navy is holding the second Commanders’ Conference of 2026 in New Delhi from today. The three day conference brings together senior naval leadership, including Operational and Area Commanders from different locations, for a detailed assessment of operational preparedness at the military and strategic level.
The conference will also provide a platform for senior naval leaders to interact with government officials through an institutional mechanism. Discussions will focus on the Navy’s role in protecting India’s maritime interests, including energy security amid the ongoing conflicts in West Asia.
On the opening day, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will present his views on national maritime priorities and outline expectations from the Indian Navy. The Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of the Army Staff will also interact with naval commanders to strengthen coordination and integration among the three services.
The conference is scheduled to continue for three days at Nausena Bhawan in New Delhi.
