Persistent rain forced both men’s cricket quarterfinals at the 2026 Asian Games to be abandoned without a ball being bowled.
Sri Lanka progressed to the semifinals after their scheduled quarterfinal against Nepal was called off, while Bangladesh advanced after their match against Malaysia was also washed out. Both teams moved forward as the higher ranked sides.
Sri Lanka will now face defending champions India in the semifinal, while Bangladesh will meet Pakistan. The semifinals are scheduled for Thursday.
Organisers are hoping improved weather conditions will allow the remaining matches to take place as planned.
