The Delhi Lieutenant Governor, VK Saxena has allowed the withdrawal of 15 cases registered against migrants for violating the lockdown restrictions in the Capital, where charge sheets have already been filed.. The cases had been registered by the Directorate of prosecution, Government of NCT of Delhi. The Delhi Police has also been asked to file a closure report in 10 similar cases against 100 migrants. This decision was taken by the LG based on humane considerations keeping in mind the distress caused to poor migrants by the lock-down conditions. The decision is also in line with an order of the Supreme Court of India.
