Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said negotiations on the India US trade deal are still underway and the agreement has not yet been finalised.
Speaking at the Munich Leaders Meeting in New Delhi today, Sitharaman said the two sides have reached a plateau in the discussions. She described the proposed agreement as a difficult and thoroughly negotiated deal.
The Finance Minister also said that the trade balance remains strongly in India’s favour. She noted that negotiations have traditionally provided countries with a platform to raise concerns over differences and discrepancies.
