Harmanpreet Kaur has stepped down as captain of the Indian women’s cricket team across all three formats. The 37 year old announced the decision following a BCCI review meeting in Guwahati.
Harmanpreet led India to its first ODI World Cup title last year and also guided the team to a gold medal at the Asian Games.
During her captaincy, she led India in five Tests, 51 ODIs and 155 T20Is. She took charge of the T20 team in 2016 and became the ODI captain in 2022.
Harmanpreet will continue to represent India as a player across all three formats.
