India’s benchmark stock indices ended higher today, recovering from recent losses. The Sensex climbed 879 points, gaining 1.23 per cent to finish at 72,472. The Nifty also advanced by 289 points, or 1.3 per cent, closing at 22,520.

Broader market indices also recorded gains on the National Stock Exchange. The Nifty Midcap 100 rose by nearly 1.7 per cent, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 increased by more than half a per cent.
