The Election Commission of India has launched a nationwide initiative across States and Union Territories to ensure that every eligible citizen is included in the electoral rolls. The campaign focuses on identifying eligible voters and helping them complete the necessary registration process.
In Delhi, election officials are carrying out the exercise through a large administrative network comprising 13 District Election Officers, 70 Electoral Registration Officers, 1,313 Booth Level Officer Supervisors and more than 14,900 Booth Level Officers. The Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi has announced that the next round of special camps will take place at all polling station locations on 18 October.
Similar efforts are underway in other parts of the country. Uttar Pradesh is conducting special camps at more than 1.77 lakh polling booths to facilitate voter registration and related services. In Sikkim, a special drive has already been conducted across 623 polling stations to ensure that no eligible voter is excluded from the electoral rolls.
Through these coordinated activities, the Election Commission aims to strengthen voter participation and make the electoral registration process more accessible to eligible citizens.
