A Boeing 737-800 passenger plane flying from Dubai which was carrying 55 passengers crashed and bursted into flames in morning in Rostov-on-Don, in southern Russia, an official with Russia's Southern Regional Emergency Center said.
"The plane with 55 passengers and six or seven crew on board, coming from Dubai, crashed as it came into land at the airport in Rostov-on-Don,"according to Marina Kostioukova, spokeswoman for the local emergencies ministry.
"At this this time we do not have any information on victims," she added. The accident happened at 0050 GMT (6.20 am IST), according to an official statement from the ministry. "The Boeing 737 on the Dubai to Rostov-on-Don route caught fire (after crashing)," said the statement, adding that the fire wast made to come under control by 0200 GMT.
"We are aware of an incident involving our flight FZ981 from Dubai to Rostov On Don. We are investigating further details and will publish an update once more information is available," Emirati budget carrier FlyDubai carrier wrote on its official Facebook page.
