As per the instruction given by the Election Commission of India, the linking of Aadhar with voter cards is currently underway. More than 30℅ nearly 2 lacs citizens have already linked their Aadhar cards to their voter cards. The main objective of linking Aadhar with Voter ID is to establish the identity of electors and authentication of entries in the electoral roll and to identify if the same person is registered in more than one constituency or more than once in the same constituency.
Citizens can link their Aadhar with their voter card online through NVSP.com or with the help of the Voter Helpline app.
A special drive is also going on from August 22nd, 2022 till September 7th, 2022, where Booth Level Officers will visit door to door to collect Aadhar data. This door-to-door campaign will also help citizens with voter registration.
A special camp on the 4th of September will also be organised at all the polling stations. BLOs will remain available on September 4th at their respective polling stations. People can visit their respective polling stations and seek the assistance of a booth level officer to link their Aadhar cards and to inquire about any changes to their voter cards.
Although Aadhar linking is entirely voluntary, citizens have expressed a strong desire to link their Aadhar with their voter card.
