Today at the Supreme Court of India, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, spoke with the crowd as part of the Constitution Day celebrations. During the event, the Prime Minister also unveiled a number of new initiatives for the e-court project, including the S3WaaS Websites, the JustIS mobile app 2.0, the Virtual Justice Clock, and the Digital Court.
The Prime Minister wished everyone a happy Constitution Day and recalled that on this day in 1949, Independent India set the groundwork for a new future. Additionally, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of Constitution Day in the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsava year. He honored Babasaheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and all of the constituent assembly members.
On this special occasion, the Prime Minister commended every one of the country's citizens for their contributions to the development and growth of the Indian Constitution over the past 70 decades, highlighting the work of countless members of the Legislature, Judiciary, and Executive.
The Prime Minister recalled the tragic incident that took place on November 26, when India was marking the historic occasion of Constitution Day. India was subjected to the largest terrorist attack in its history by the enemies of humanity. Shri Modi paid respect to those who died as a result in the heinous terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of raising India's standing and reputation around the world as a unit as India would take over the G20 presidency in a week. He continued, "It is our common responsibility. India's reputation as the birthplace of democracy needs to be further strengthened."
The Prime Minister emphasised the youth-centric spirit by remarking that the constitution is renowned for its openness, being futuristic, and its contemporary perspective. He recognised the importance of young people and their power in all facets of India's development.
By enabling courts with ICT, the Project aims to offer services to petitioners, attorneys, and the judiciary. As mentioned above, the Prime Minister introduced several initiatives, including the S3WaaS Websites, the JustIS mobile app 2.0, the Digital Court, and the Virtual Justice Clock.
A project called Virtual Justice Clock aims to display important data about the administration of justice at the court level, including information on cases that have been filed, cases that have been resolved, and cases that are still pending on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
The JustIS Mobile App 2.0 is a tool that judicial officers can use to manage cases and courts effectively by keeping track of the cases that are pending and being dismissed not only in their own court but also by the judges who work for them individually. Judges of the High Court and Supreme Court can now monitor the status of every State and District that falls under their jurisdiction by using this app, which is also made available to them.
The S3WaaS Websites framework allows for the creation, configuration, deployment, and management of websites for the publication of specific data and services pertaining to district judicial.
The goal of the digital court programme is to ease the transition to paperless courts by providing judges with access to court records in digitized form.
