India holds the G20 presidency
Today, December 1, 2022, signifies the beginning of India's G20 Presidency. The G20 presidency of India, according to PM Narendra Modi, would strive to promote this sense of interdependence among all people. Thus, "One Earth, One Family, One Future" serves as our theme.

For the duration of its term, the current chair appoints a temporary secretariat to oversee the group's activities and plan meetings. The summit of 2021 took place in Italy,  Summit of 2022  in Bali, Indonesia and now India currently holds the chair.

The preceding 17 G20 Presidency terms produced important outcomes, including guaranteeing macroeconomic stability, streamlining international taxation, reducing countries' debt burdens, and many more. These accomplishments will help us in the future as we build on them.

India is a snapshot of the world since it is home to one-sixth of the world's population and has a vast range of languages, religions, customs, and beliefs.

India makes a contribution to the fundamental composition of democracy as the country with the oldest-known traditions of group decision-making. As the mother of democracy, India constructs its national consensus by combining millions of free voices into a melodious harmony rather than by imposing its will.

India's economy is currently the one with the quickest growth. Even the most disadvantaged individuals are cared for by our citizen-centric governing approach, which also nurtures the creative brilliance of our gifted youth.

India's experiences can offer knowledge about potential global solutions. India will showcase its experiences, lessons learned, and role models during the G20 Presidency as potential models for others, especially the developing world.

Based on India's long legacy of guardianship of nature, India will promote environmentally responsible lifestyles as a means of repairing our planet.

In order to foster peace within the human family, we will work to secularise the world's supply of food, fertiliser, and medical supplies. This will help to prevent humanitarian catastrophes from being triggered by geopolitical tensions. As in our own homes, we all must put the needs of the most vulnerable people first.

India shall promote an open dialogue amongst the world's most powerful nations on reducing the threats posed by WMD and boosting international security in the hopes of inspiring hope in our next generations.

"India's G20 agenda will be open to all, ambitious, practical, and definite. Let's work together to make India's G20 presidency a time of reconciliation, harmony, and hope," Modi encouraged.
