The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi is all set to address the inaugural session of the Global Buddhist Summit on 20th April 2023 being hosted by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with International Buddhist Confederation. The summit is an international conference aimed at discussing the role of Buddhism in promoting peace, harmony, and sustainable development. The theme is “Responses to Contemporary Challenges: Philosophy to Praxis”
The Summitis a platform that brings together leading Buddhist thinkers, Sangha leadersand scholars from around the world to share their insights, experiences, andperspectives on how Buddhism can contribute to addressing some of the mostpressing challenges facing humanity. There will be several events,including panel discussions, keynote addresses, and interactive sessions.
The inaugural session by the Prime minister will take place on 20thApril 2023 at 10am at HotelAshok in Delhi. The summit will be a two-day event held on 20-21 April,2023.
The Prime Minister's participation in the summit underscores his government's commitmentto promoting religious harmony and understanding in the country and the world.In his address to the summit, he will highlight the relevance of Buddhistteachings in addressing the challenges of our time, including climate change,
poverty, conflict, and inequality. He will also emphasize the importance of Buddha Dhamma’s fundamentals and cooperation in promoting peace and understanding.
