Neeraj Chopra, the Olympic champion javelin thrower, started his Diamond League title defense with a victory in the first leg. Despite his win, Chopra stated that he intends to challenge himself further in the upcoming competitions this season. Chopra won the first round of the season with a top throw of 88.67m, outshining a star-studded field at the Qatar Sports Club on Friday night. "It was a challenging win, but I'm satisfied with the good start," said Chopra. Chopra, who aims to surpass the coveted 90m mark, intends to maintain his fitness and consistency this season and strive to outdo himself in future competitions. On June 27, the world body reported that he will compete in the Ostrava Golden Spike event in the Czech Republic, a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold level meet. Chopra is presently training in Antalya, Turkey.
