According to an official statement released on Friday, the Ghaziabad-Aligarh Expressway has achieved a historic milestone by completing the laying of bituminous concrete over a distance of 100 lane kilometers in an unprecedented time of 100 hours.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways emphasized that this achievement demonstrates the dedication and ingenuity of India's road infrastructure industry.

During a virtual celebration ceremony, Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, highlighted the significance of the Ghaziabad-Aligarh section of NH34, which spans 118 kilometers. He emphasized its crucial role as a transportation link connecting the densely populated regions of Ghaziabad and Aligarh.

Gadkari pointed out that this project passes through several towns and cities in Uttar Pradesh, including Dadri, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Sikandrabad, Bulandshahr, and Khurja. It serves as a vital trade route, facilitating the movement of goods and contributing to regional economic development by connecting industrial areas, agricultural regions, and educational institutions.

The minister also highlighted the use of innovative green technology in this project, which involves utilizing 90 percent of the milled material, equivalent to almost 20 lakh square meters of road surface. As a result, the consumption of virgin materials has been reduced to a mere 10 percent.

"By adopting this approach, we have significantly decreased fuel consumption and the associated greenhouse gas emissions, thus making a substantial contribution to reducing our carbon footprint," stated Gadkari.
