Union Minister Shekhawat Highlights Government Achievements, Criticizes Rajasthan Chief Minister in Press Conference

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat emphasized the accomplishments of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and directed criticism toward Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Shekhawat accused Gehlot of prioritizing his own position while the state suffered from a decline in progress.

Shekhawat, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a Member of Parliament from Jodhpur, alleged that the Congress government in Rajasthan had completely failed to implement various schemes, including those sponsored by the central government.

He claimed that Chief Minister Gehlot's recent announcements regarding subsidies on cooking gas for those below the poverty line and free electricity of 2,000 units for farmers were merely distractions from the increasing incidents of atrocities against Dalit and tribal women, as well as the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. Shekhawat suggested that these announcements were intended to conceal the failures of the Congress government in Rajasthan.

Speaking at a press conference held at the BJP headquarters, Shekhawat asserted that Rajasthan currently ranked at the bottom in terms of progress due to the state government's focus on preserving its positions instead of addressing development needs. He further criticized the state government for its inability to effectively implement schemes, including those provided by the central government.

When asked about the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission in Rajasthan, Shekhawat stated that the state's coverage of tap water supply stood at only around 39 percent, highlighting the government's failure to adequately plan the implementation of the scheme despite receiving funds from the central government.

Shekhawat highlighted the achievements of the Modi government since 2014, claiming that there had been visible improvements in people's lives over the past nine years. He attributed these positive changes to the effective implementation of welfare schemes launched by the central government, which ensured that the benefits reached every individual.

He stated that both the nation and the world recognized the developmental work carried out under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Shekhawat attributed the country's progress to the Prime Minister's vision of inclusive development and the collective efforts of all citizens.

Regarding the previous Congress-led UPA government's tenure, Shekhawat criticized it for being marred by numerous scandals and portraying India as a weak nation. He contrasted this with the Modi government's approach, which aimed to restore people's faith in the system and prioritize the welfare of ordinary citizens. Shekhawat emphasized that the government's schemes were designed to benefit every person in the country without discrimination.
