Demonetisation to make India more moral country: RSS

Backing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's step of scrapping Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh and Sangh has called the step to make India 'more moral' country.

In a meting with top RSS leaders, chief Mohan Bhagwat has requeted members to explain demonetisation as well as offer “practical guidance” to those encountering post-demonitisation difficulties.

"In nation building whenever a big step is taken for larger interest, there is always suffering. It is unfortunate, but we all have to remember it is for larger good," RSS Joint General Secretary Dattaratreya Hosabale told a daily.

"Our members like many others are providing tea and water to people standing in queues, helping senior citizens get to the counter fast and assisting people in filling out forms. Some of us are also talking to people about the benefits of the move and how it is in national interest, apart from identifying poor families in bastis and help them get valid currency,"  daily paper quoted RSS Deputy Prachar Pramukh (media in-charge) J Nandakumar saying.
