Amma no more: Who will get Jayalalithaa's Rs 114 crore asset now?

Tamil Nadu's one of the most successful and loved politicians, J Jayalalithaa has passed away on Monday at Apollo Hospital in Chennai. She was undergoing treatment in the hospital since September 22. Earlier this month, 68 -year-old Jayalalithaa was readmitted to the critical care unit (CCU) after she suffered a cardiac arrest. According to the hospital, all clinical attempts were made to save her. 


"Unfortunately the honourable chief minister suffered a massive cardiac arrest on December, 4 2016, even while our intensivist was in her room. The honourable chief minister was immediately administered resuscitation (CPR) and provided the ECMO support within the hour. ECMO is the most advanced treatment currently available internationally. Every possible clinical attempt was made to sustain her revival. However, despite our best efforts, our honourable chief minister's underlying conditions rendered her unable to recover and she passed away at 11.30 pm today," the press statement issued by the Hospital read. 

Meanwhile, all 135 MLAs of the AIADMK were invited for an urgent meeting to decide the next CM of the Tamil Nadu, which anonymously agreed upon Finance minister O Paneerselvam's name to be the next CM.

Veda Nilayam in Poes Garden

The name needs no introduction as Veda Nilayam a well known name among south Indians, which are Amma's massive 24,000 sqft residential properties valued at Rs 44 crore.

Media reports suggest that Jayalalithaa's close aide Sasikala Natarajan could be given keys of this property.

Farm land and commercial property

She has 14.50 acres of farm land in Jeedimetla village in Ranga Reddy district in Telangana and 3.43 acres in Cheyyur Village in Kancheepuram village in Tamil Nadu. Besides, she has four commercial buildings.

Jaya's foster son VN Sudhakaran, could be heir of the entire farm land and commercial property.

Vehicles

In total Amma has a total of nine vehicles, which worth around Rs 42,25,000.

Jewellery

According to Jaya, she has gold jewellery value of 21,280.300 grams, which could not be ascertained as a case of disproportionate assets was pending in the Supreme Court.

She has declared possession of 1,250 kg of silver articles valued at Rs 3,12,50,000.

Besides, she has some more unidentified investments and other assets in her possession.
