Get discounted petrol, diesel and free rail insurance cover on cashless transactions

In a bid to encourage cashless economy, the government is no mood to leave any stone unturned as the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has announced to offer up to 10% incentives on retail purchases from state-run companies.


Those who buy petrol/diesel using cards and e-wallets will get an attractive discount of 0.75% on the total of their purchase, the finance minister said.

The government plans to give free Point of Sale machines for free to each village that has a population of over 8,000. 

All online train ticket buyers on IRCTC are entitled to get free insurance cover worth Rs 10 laky, while railway will give 5% discount catering, retiring room on payment by digital mode. 

If you are buying monthly and seasonal tickets for suburban railways through digital payment, you will be given a further discount of 0.5%.

If you travel too often on highways, there is a 10% flat discount for you if you use digital payment mode.

All digital payments of up to Rs 2,000 will be completely exempted from service tax.
