AAP retaliates with 'Shahenshah-e-Alam comment after BJP's Maharaj dig in Kejriwal's home renovation controversy

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has hit back at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the controversy surrounding Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's home renovation, with a sharp retort referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following a jibe from the BJP labeling Kejriwal as a "Maharaj" for his extravagant home renovation, AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj responded by referring to Modi as "Shahenshah-e-Alam" (emperor of the world). "Instead of focusing on the real issues that concern the people of Delhi, the BJP is resorting to petty name-calling and mud-slinging," Bharadwaj said in a press conference on Tuesday."The Delhi Chief Minister's residence is being renovated for the first time in over a decade. It is a routine matter, and there is no need to make a fuss about it," he added. Bharadwaj went on to accuse the BJP and the Congress of being "hypocritical" in their criticism of Kejriwal's home renovation. "Both parties have spent crores of rupees on their own leaders' residences, yet they have the audacity to question the Delhi Chief Minister's modest renovation," he said. The AAP spokesperson also criticized the media for sensationalizing the issue and giving it more attention than it deserves."The media should be focusing on the real issues that matter to the people of Delhi, such as healthcare, education, and employment, instead of indulging in sensationalism and gossip," he said. The controversy surrounding Kejriwal's home renovation began when the BJP released a video claiming that the renovation was being carried out at taxpayers' expense and was worth crores of rupees. The AAP has denied these allegations, stating that the renovation is being funded by the Delhi government and is a routine matter.
The controversy has sparked a war of words between the AAP and the BJP, with both parties accusing each other of hypocrisy and corruption.
