The annual 36-hour UNESCO India - Africa Hackathon was inaugurated on November 22, 2022. The aim of the event is to bring together students, educators, teachers, and the research community from India and its African partners in order to address the shared problems that both the nations experience. It also served as a catalyst for the amalgamation of cultures.

On a suitable platform made available by the Hackathon, young innovators could gather together and seek solutions to social, environmental, and technical problems faced by the cooperating countries.

The Hackathon will serve as a representation of the close ties that India and its African colleagues cherish and will reflect the spirit of cooperation by bringing people from both continents together to address issues for the betterment of humanity.
