The 12th Japan-Canada Political-Military Dialogue
The 12th Japan-Canada Political-Military (PM) Dialogue took place in Ottawa, Canada, on December 15.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Deputy Director General for North American Affairs, Mr. MIYAMOTO Shingo, and the Ministry of Defense's Director General for International Affairs, Mr. MIURA Jun, led the Japanese delegation.

The Canadian delegation was led by Mr. Weldon Epp, Director General, North East Asia, Global Affairs Canada, Mr. Kevin Hamilton, Director General, International Security Policy, Global Affairs Canada, and Major General Greg Smith, Director General for International Security Policy, Department of National Defence.
They exchanged views on a variety of issues, including Japan-Canada security and defense cooperation and regional situations. They concurred to further strengthen cooperation toward realizing a “Free and Open Indo Pacific (FOIP).”
