As reported by the Land and Urban Construction Bureau, Macau is currently witnessing the construction of nine new hotels in the second quarter of 2023. Among these developments, seven are situated on the Macau peninsula, and the remaining two are located in Cotai.

The collective gross floor area of these nine hotels, spanning over 213,009 square meters, will house a total of 3,732 rooms. Additionally, the projects will provide ample parking space, with 1,347 spots for cars and 370 spaces dedicated to motorcycles.

Furthermore, eight other hotel projects are currently in the design phase, projected to offer a total of 1,308 rooms upon completion. The combined gross floor area for these upcoming developments is expected to reach approximately 61,177 square meters.

Notably, the YOHO Treasure Island Resorts World Hotel near Nam Vam Lake is set to initiate its soft opening next month, while the shopping center of the YOHO Group project will open on 1 October. Remarkably, the shopping mall has already achieved an impressive 80 percent occupancy rate for its retail spaces, according to Jones Lang LaSalle, the mall's manager.
